It is really not up to the search engines to include your site in their search engine results. It is up to YOU to do that!
You have to understand that just because you have a site (or blog) on the internet - that doesn't mean that your site will automatically show up in the search engines!
Now most of the major search engines have a link where you can add your site manually but those sites will tell you that it may take them some time - a few months or even longer - to actually get to your site!
I have had blog posts (especially on my Adsense Consultant blog) show up in the search engine results in as little as 24 hours but the blog itself is about a year old!
If you want to optimize your site for the search engines it is going to take some work. Although there are people who have lucked out as far as their sites showing in the search engines immediately - for the rest of us there is work that is involved!

The most basic advice that I can give you is to decide which keywords you want your site to be associated with and then do a search using those keywords to see where your site ranks. If your site ranks lower than what you would like (or it doesn't rank at all) then take a good look at the sites that are out-ranking you because those are the site that you are going to have to out-optimize!
