Is Search Engine Optimization An "Art"?

I have seen soooo many posts from people that have started their blog and have had it up for less than a month and are wondering why it doesn't show on the first page of the search engines. It seems a lot of them think that as so as they put their blog online that it will be seen on the search engines. Unfortunately this is not always the case! There are exceptions where people have started blogs that contain a very popular subject and their blogs appear on the search engines relatively fast. Some people have even been able to manage to get their blogs on the search engines in as little as a few days! One of my own blogs, The Adsense Consultant Blog, turns up on page one of Google's search engine results when popular searches are done. For example during the period when Adsense sends out their payments there is always a "waiting" game as to when people actually start to see the "payment in progress" line show up on their adsense accounts. So subsequently there will be people looking online about the latest news about the adsense payments for the month. My blog invariably shows up in the search engine results when people are looking for more information about this.

So is it an "art" form? Maybe in a way it is.
