Here is the question

How can I get my site xxxx.com on the top page in search engines? My website does not appear in your (Google's) search engine. It has been submitted several times over the last 3 months.

Here is my reply:

You are going to have to decide what keywords you want associated with your site. In other words what are the keywords that you want associated with your site when people type in search terms?

When you answer that question and you have your chosen keywords in mind then you work on incorporating those keywords within your site.

I Did A Check On My Search Engine Rankings Today And..........

I see that both of my Adsense Consulting Blogs are still showing on page one of the Google search engine rankings.

How do I still manage to achieve this? Well I think that first of all constantly updating your site helps - although this is not a "given". There have been times when I have updated my blogs and received a much lower ranking in the search engines. So it really is not an exact science!

One thing that I will say that I have done is to analyze the sites of my search engine competitors and there have been things that I have done to my own blogs in the hopes of getting a higher search engine ranking and sometimes it has worked - but again it is not an exact science!

You just have to keep trying new things and then just when you think you have it something new comes along that you have to learn. But all-in-all what I do is that I keep on trying and the fact that my blogs are on page one of google's search engine for the term "adsense consultant"proves that I am doing something right!

Increasing Page Impressions?

I just got a comment on my Adsense Consultant blog about increasing my page impressions.

Just in case you don't know what the Adsense program is it is a way to be able to earn money online. Google's Adsense program lets you add ads to your website or blog and when visitors to your site click on those ads then you earn money! Anyway, the comment was about increasing the number of impressions (visitors) that I get to my blog. Like I replied "there is always room for improvement". So far both of my Adsense Consulting blogs still appear on page one of Google's search engine when someone types in the term adsense consultant but there is always room for improvement.

You have to remember that new sites are coming online all the time and you have to constantly keep up with the work that is involved in keeping your site high in the search engine rankings.

There are a number of things that you can do to increase your page impressions BUT the very best place to start is with getting your site high in the search engine rankings!

and here is the reply that I gave:

First of all a lot of the major search engines have links to where you can add your site manually. However this will not put your site on the search engines immediately. Sometimes it can take as much as a few months for your site to show up when you add it manually.

The best and fastest way to get your blog on the search engines is to decide which keywords you want associated with your blog. Type in the keywords to see where you rank and if your site doesn't appear as high up in the search engines as you want it to be then work on incorporating those keywords into the content of your blog.

shows up on page 1 or 2 of Google's search engine results when the keyword "adsense consultant" are typed in. Now mind you my blog is about 4 months old and it showing up on page 1 of google's search engines is a minor miracle. But I didn't do any manual submission to the blog, I just work on the content of my blog.

A client of mine

The Computer Dude

has a blog that shows up on page one of Google's search engine results when someone types in the keyword "computer dude" - heck his search results are better than mine and I work at optimizing both blogs!

So giving you step by step instructions may be darn near impossible!

It will depend on what keywords you want associated with your blog and where you blog ranks now as opposed to where you want it to rank in the search engines.

"How Do I Add My Blog To Google's Search Engine Results?"

Well I can tell you that there will be a lot of work involved as far as getting your blog (or website) high in the search engine rankings! Some people are lucky in that their sites get indexed right away in the search engines but this doesn't happen for everybody!

You have to decide what keywords you want your blog to be associated with. Then the next thing that you do is to do a search using those search terms and see where your blog shows up. If you don't like where your blog is showing up or worse yet your blog site isn't showing up at all then you have to work harder at incorporating those search terms within the content of your blog.

You should also realize too that there is a LOT of competition out there for high search engine rankings and that just means that you'll have to work harder at getting high search engine rankings.

The competition has found devious and illegitimate ways at getting high search engine rankings and unfortunately that just makes it harder for the "average" person or business to get high search engine rankings for their own sites.

I work very hard at being able to maintain my own The Adsense Consultant Blog on the first page of Google's search engine results and to put it quite plainly - it does take a lot of work BUT it is definitely worth it if you want your site to appear high in the search engine rankings!

I'm Still On Page 1 Of Google's Search Engine Rankings For The Search Term "Adsense Consultant"!

Today I saw yet another post from someone who is complaining about their blog not showing up on Google's search engine results so I decided to take a look at my rankings today! I'm happy to say that both of my The Adsense Consultant blogs are showing up as #1 and #2 on Google's search engine results for the term "adsense consultant"! Unfortunately I can't show you a copy of my search engine results for today because that would be a violation of Adsense's terms of service. However what I CAN do is show you my search engine results from Yahoo's search engine results for the term "adsense consultant.

As you can see my search engine rankings are quite high! Both of my Adsense Consultant blogs appear highly ranked as #2 and #3 on Yahoo's search engine!

As you can see, I'm very happy about this but more importantly it shows that the techniques that I am using for high search engine rankings is working very well! As you can tell from the results above my blogs are appearing on the first page of search engine results for the term "adsense consultant" out of over 10 Million search engine results!

That is very good indeed!

I know that a lot of people are using (or trying to use) their blogs to make money so that they are able to make money online using either Google's Adsense program, another kind of affiliate program and / or by direct advertising and since having a high ranking on the major search engines goes a long way to being able to earn money online - the higher your search engine ranking, the more money that you have the potential to make online!

So when you're ready for results, just let me know!

How Long Does It Take For The Search Engines To Find My Site?

Actually your site is "findable" once it is online!

However the problem lies with how well your site has been optimized for the search engines. Let me explain!

When people are using the search engines to find out information about a certain topic or subject the search engines will return a list of sites that are related to those searches. Now while your site may contain the information that people are searching for that doesn't mean that it will automatically show up in the search engine results ONLY because those sites that DO show up have better optimized their sites for those search words / terms.

If your site is only a few hours or days old then "yes" it may take some time before it appears in the search engine results but there have been cases where site content has shown up in as little as 24 hours!

For example, my The Adsense Consultant Blog has shown up on page 1 of some search engine results only because I will post about a popular subject that many people are looking for - namely when the first sighting of the monthly "Payment in progress" has been made! People who are using adsense on their sites are anxious to know when the monthly payment process has begun and if they don't see that "payment in progress" line on their adsense account's payment history then they are curious (and anxious) about whether or not anyone else has received theirs and they will go online to look and see if anyone else has received their "payment in progress" line yet.

Since I have Adsense on some of my sites, I'm anxiously awaiting that "payment in progress" line too and so I blog about it and when people are searching for information relating to this my blog will show up and there have been times when blog posts that I have made in less than 24 hours will show up in the search engine results!

But this is due to the fact that I have chosen a very popular topic - something that I know people are looking for. As a matter of fact I wasn't even aware of this until I started checking the statistics of my site visitors.

Another factor is that I work on optimizing my sites for the search engines so that while my site rankings are high that will mean that my subsequent new content that I add will result in high search engine rankings as well.

So if you want your site to rank high in the search engines as SOON as possible you will have to first, optimize your site for the search engines and choose content that a lot of people will be looking for!

I base most of my SEO work on the results that I get from Google's search engine but any good SEO consultant would like to check theirs (and their clients') rankings in the other search engines as well!

Most of the major search engines have a link where you can manually add your blog BUT you should be forewarned that even some of these sites will tell you themselves that it may take them some time (maybe even a few months or longer) to actually "manually" get to your blog.

How Do I Get People To View My Blog?

This is going to depend on a lot of things!

First of all you should give your blog a chance (and some time) to start to build a reputation and a following.

If your blog is new then you can go to the Blogger.com's The Coffee Shop and announce your blog (and provide a link to it) to the world!

Another way that people find your blog is through the search engines.

Basically how this works is that people will use a search engine to find information. The search engine will return a list of sites that have information relating to the search terms that people have typed into the search engine. What YOU want YOUR site to do is show up on the list of search engine results when people are looking for information that is related to the information that is on your own blog.

The higher up your site is in the search engine results, the more traffic / visitors you are more likely to get.

I should warn you though that search engine optimization is not as easy as it sounds. There are a lot of people clamoring to get those high-ranking search engine listings and they have found quite a number of different (and illegitimate) ways of doing it!

You should also install a counter and one of the free statistic tracking services so that you can see how much (or how little) traffic your site gets so that you will have more information as you work to increase your traffic numbers.

First of all how old is your blog? Give it some time!

Just because you have a website or blog online does not mean that its
going to show up on the search engines automatically.

While some people have managed to have their content show up in 24
hours - the mainstream have to give it some time.

You should be looking at those site that DO show up when you type your
blog into the search engine(s) because it shows what sites are
appearing before yours which is information that you need to know -
you need to know WHY these sites are showing ahead of yours.

This whole thing is called search engine optimization - SEO for
short. And it does require work! Basically you have to work on

It's Getting To Be A Ruthless Game!

You may not like the fact that even though your site may be a legitimate one that its still not ranking high in the search engines because other (non-legitimate) sites are!

It's now becoming a ruthless game to rank high in the search engine results because lets face it - the higher your site ranks the more traffic that will bring to your site.

There are all sorts of unscrupulous ways that sites have managed to out-optimize more legitimate sites and like it or not these ways seem to work!

Unfortunately the only thing that you can do if you still want to rank high in the search engines is to out-rank those sites that are appearing higher in the search engines than your own site is!

That's really not an easy question to answer.

Theoretically Google already knows that your site is out there but it's going to depend on the actual search terms that people type into Google's search engine!

Even then your blog showing up in those search engine results is going to depend on how well you optimized your site for those search terms.

Currently my Adsense Consultant Blog is showing up in the top 5 search engine results for the term adsense consultant! So far my search engine results see-saw between being in the top five ranked hits out of over 1 Million search results!

Getting those kinds of search engine results is going to require some work on your part but keep in mind that the most important thing is that you have to optimize your site for the search engines - not the other way around!

I think I may have an "inkling as to why this is happening! If I am proved to be right this could be an additional very good technique that others can use to rank high (or higher) in the search engines!

It seems a lot of people would like to be able to contact Google.com as far as asking them about why their sites aren't ranking high in the search engines.

While I know that the Google company has a standard address, phone and fax number (and I keep it in my database), I'm sure that they are not likely to broadcast it all over the place! They do have a contact form that they use and you can get to it by clicking here.

They would very much prefer that you ask your questions on the many help boards that they have.

I posted about this particular bx error code problem on my blog and then decided to do a search on it and it showed up!. It didn't show up on page one of the search engine - it showed up on page 2! But still I think that that is a pretty good search engine ranking for a blog post that I posted only a few short hours ago!

My Blog Post(s) Showing Up In The Search Engines In As Little As 24 Hours?

Many times I have posted about some of my blog posts showing up in the search engines in as little as 24 hours! I have talked about this on replies that I have posted to peoples' posts where they are asking about why their blog(s) don't show up in the search engines.

Since I am an Adsense Consultant, I have an Adsense Consultant Blog and I have noticed that some of my posts have shown up in the search engines - mainly I'm talking about Google's search engine - less than 24 hours after I made the post to my blog!

How do I know this? Well I have a stats tracker on my blog and from that I am able to tell how many people have visited my blog as well as what site referred them to my blog. Half of the time people come to my Adsense Consultant Blog via the search engines - mainly Google's search engine - and from my stats I can tell EXACTLY what search terms led them to my blog(s).

With the growing popularity of Adsense, there are more people joining the adsense program and once they join adsense they are very eager to get a payment from Adsense! I find that my Adsense Consultant Blog becomes very popular when people are looking for more information about when they can expect their adsense payment. Since I'm just as eager as anyone else to get their adsense payment I post about it on my blog! I post about when I see the "payment in progress line that lets an Adsense publisher know that their adsense payment is in progress - I post about when I see my own PIP line on my adsense account that lets me know that my adsense payment is in progress. I also try to post about the first "payment in progress sighting for the month when someone gets the PIP line on their own adsense account.

This seems to be very popular information for those that are looking out for when they are going to get their adsense payment and so they start looking online for any information about it - that's when they go to the search engines looking for more information about the adsense payments and when they do that a link to my Adsense Consultant Blog shows up in the search engines!

So one of the ways that I have been able to get some of my blog posts in the search engines in as little as 24 hours is because I have posted about information that a lot of people seem to be looking for. And this is something that you should keep in mind when you're wondering about how someone's blog post (or website) can show up in the search engines in as little as 24 hours!

It does require some work!

I have found out about these popular blog posts of mine and I try to use that information to optimize my blogs more!

There have been a lot of posts from people who have been posting that their sites / blogs are not showing up in the search engines. The thing that gets me is that the people who post these messages say that their sites are only a few weeks, days or even hours old!

First of all you have to understand that just because you have a site on the Internet doesn't mean that it will automatically show up in the search engines! Please understand the basic concept(s) of the search engines which is:

People will type in search terms looking for sites that have related information. What YOU want is for YOUR site to show up in the search engine results when people type in search terms that are related to the content of your site.

Do a test run yourself. Type in the search term(s) that you want your site to be associated with and see where your site ranks. If you don't like where your site is ranking take a look at those sites that are ranking above yours - these are the sites that you will have to "out-optimize".

There have been times when I have had blog posts show up in the search engines in as little as 24 hours but the blog itself is more than a few months old! Oh My God! I Think I Found A Secret!

I was reading a post from someone who was complaining about their site not being ranked high in the search engines. They mentioned their frustration at the adult and adult-related sites as well as the "spam" sites that appeared before his own website in the search engine ranking results.

The post gave me an idea to try out and I decided to test it with a site that appears above mine in the search engine rankings - it worked! - my blog appeared above the other site in Google's search engine results!

So I decided to try it on another site that was appearing before my site in the search engine results! it worked again!

I checked my search engine results for the term "adsense consultant" and my blog was the top ranked site on Google's search engine!

Now I know that this is quite hard to believe and I am feeling that same way too! How could I instantly be able to get my adsense consultant blog to the top of the search engine in just a matter of minutes?!!!!

So while this little experiment is in its infancy I'm definitely going to be checking my search engine results for the next few days just to see if this little experiment worked! If it does then I'm going to start implementing it with the SEO work that I'm doing for clients!

It is just amazing what one picks up on the Internet if they just pay extra attention to what it is that they are doing!

I was looking at yet another post from someone who wanted to know why their blog wasn't on Google's search engine results.

First of all their blog could have been in the search engine results but just at a lower ranking. This begs the question of just how many pages of search engine results did this person go through to find their blog?

Basically speaking you can't say that your site or blog is not in the search engine results unless you go through every page of search results.

Secondly this person was using a search term that brings back 26 Million "hits"! Now I ask you how can a person who has had a blog for less than a month expect their blog to show up in the most popular search engine there is - Google's search engine - and expect to show up on page one of the search engine results?

I have had some of my blog posts show up on the search engines in as little as 24 hours BUT the blog itself is more than a few months old.

I worked at it - Ironically since I did some search engine optimization on my Adsense Consultant blog, I haven't had to do much else to keep my page 1 search engine rankings. Basically the search engine optimization tactics that I used was to simply try and "out-optimize" the sites that were being listed in the search engines ahead of my very own blog!

These kind of SEO tactics involve a lot of analyzing - especially when you are talking about analyzing the sites of one's competitor so that YOUR site will appear above your own competitor's site in the search engine rankings.

Just because you "build a site" "The will not come" automatically!

You have to optimize your site for the search engines before the search engines can even begin to find your site!

This questions keeps on being asked ALL the time! I wouldn't have even mentioned it now but I'm on a message board that is related to SEO help.

This question keeps being asked over and over again and what people have to realize is that there is quite a lot of work involved as far as getting one's site to show up in the search engines.

I am also an Adsense Consultant and that blog is listed on page one of Google's search engine results for the term "adsense consultant. (as of today, June 15th, a link to 3 of my sites shows up on page one of Google's search engine for the term "adsense consultant").

Getting one's site to show in the top page rankings on Google and/or the other major search engines is going to require a lot of work on your part! and even then you have to constantly keep working at it because new sites are being added to the Internet every day - which means that every day YOUR site has the potential to get bumped down the line of search engine results!

My Blog Is Ranked #1

I did another check to see where my Adsense Consultant Blog is ranking in Google's search engine.

I checked today and it is currently the number 1 ranked link for the term "adsense consultant".

What prompted me to check my search engine rankings today is the constant number of people who are posting about how they are not seeing their sites ranked in the search engines. As a matter of fact I keep seeing this question posted all the time - and I do mean ALL the time!

I think one of the main problems is that people think that just because they create a site or a blog that it will automatically turn up in the search engines and that is not always the case. Sometimes a person will get lucky and get high search engine rankings because they have chosen a very popular topic. But for the majority of people getting one's site to rank high in the search engines is going to take some work!

I'm On Page 1 Of Google's Search Engine! (Again!)

I was checking the stats on my sites and saw that someone did a search for a myspace consultant and a link to my The Myspace Consultant Blog turned up as the Number 1 listed site on Google's search engine!

That is of course with the exception of the sites that pay a fee to be on the top of the search engines!

People have always suggested different ways of getting to the top of the search engines but I still truly believe that it has everything to do with content!

I Tried A Little Experiment And It Worked!

I did a check on my search engine rankings a few days ago and found out that a link to my Adsense Consultant Blog had moved down to the #2 spot on Google's search engine.

I decided that I wasn't going to let it drive me crazy because even being the #2 spot link is better than nothing - in fact it's quite good and a link to my blog still shows up on page one of Google's search engine results for the term "adsense consultant" - in fact I have more than one link that shows up on page 1!

However I noticed something in particular about the site that appeared above mine in the search engine rankings and decided to try a little experiment! It worked! Now a link to my blog is back to being on the #1 spot!

Adsense Consultant - My Search Engine Ranking On Google!

I often post about where my Adsense Consultant Blog is ranking in the search engines. For the past few months it has been ranking as the top (non-paid) listed /ranked for the term "adsense consultant.

I did a search engine check today and noticed that a link to the blog is now #2!

I'm not going to let it drive me crazy 'cause I'm still on page one of Google's search engine results - I just dropped down one rank lower - for now!

I'll keep checking though and it gives me some ideas about how I can work on getting a link back to the blog back on top of the search engine rankings.

I was checking some statistics of my websites and blogs and noticed that someone did a search for the term "the computer dude" and one of my clients,
The ComputerDude's blog has showed up on page one of Google's search engine.

*Unfortunately I can't post a picture of that search result here because since I have Adsense ads on this blog, I'm not allowed to post any Google-related images (since google owns Adsense).

If you take a good look at The ComputerDude's blog you will see that it is a nicely put together blog. It has a fair amount of posts and I do know for a fact that this blog has earned some adsense revenue as well.

You should strive to make your blog look at least presentable because you never know what search terms are going to bring people to your own website or blog!

How is this for fast search engine results! I made a post to my Adsense Consultant Blog today and TODAY it showed up on page 5 of Google's search engine results! What is so amazing about achieving this is not only the fact that an entry that I posted to my blog showed up on Google's search engine results in less than 24 hours - my blog entry was posted to a blog that had been deleted and then re-instated during the same 24 hour period!

The newest trend being talked about as far as search engine optimization is concerned is the fact that there have been a few people that have managed to get their sites in the search engine results in 4 days but I was able to achieve this in ONE DAY!

So my blog is still appears on page 1 of google's search engine results!

On Thursday, August 9, 2007 I found out that my adsense consulting blog showed up on page one of Google's search engine results when the term "adsense consulting" was typed into the search box! Again, for my blog being only 4 months old I thing that this is a very good accomplishment!

If you want your blog or website to show up in Google then you have to do the work!

My blog is moving up on page 1 of Google's search engine results when the search term "adsense consultant" is typed into Google's search engine!

My blog still appears on page 1 of Google's search engine results when people are looking for adsense consultant and so far each time I have checked, my blog is moving up the page on Google's search engine results.

I want to remind all of you that I have done this by not manually submitting my blog to the search engines. So far my search engine results have come completely from my working with my blog, adding new content to it and "networking" around the Internet.

You have to remember that there are always ways that you can work with your blog to have it appear high in the search engine rankings - you just have to work at it!

Well my search engine rankings are quite good for my Adsense Consultant Blog. I'm currently on page one of google's search engine results for the term "adsense consultant. The thing about it is that I don't useually do too fancy a stuff when I'm posting to that blog. I just keep adding relative content and since being an Adsense Consultant is my job I find that there are a lot of adsense-related information that I am interested in and post to my blog. People are so interested in adsense because it is such a legitimate way to earn money online that they are looking for as much information about adsense as possible and I have seen a link to my blog turn up many a time when I check some of my "stats". Certain terms and phrases relating to adsense will be typed in a search engine and a link to my blog will be in the search engine results.

One thing that I would like to add to your post about search engine rankings is that your readers should add a stats tracker code to their website or blog. There are a lot of free ones available out there and they mostly just involve copying and pasting some code.

With the information that you can get from these states - that will help you learn more about the traffic (and where its coming from) that is coming to your blog.

I have seen soooo many posts from people that have started their blog and have had it up for less than a month and are wondering why it doesn't show on the first page of the search engines. It seems a lot of them think that as so as they put their blog online that it will be seen on the search engines. Unfortunately this is not always the case! There are exceptions where people have started blogs that contain a very popular subject and their blogs appear on the search engines relatively fast. Some people have even been able to manage to get their blogs on the search engines in as little as a few days! One of my own blogs, The Adsense Consultant Blog, turns up on page one of Google's search engine results when popular searches are done. For example during the period when Adsense sends out their payments there is always a "waiting" game as to when people actually start to see the "payment in progress" line show up on their adsense accounts. So subsequently there will be people looking online about the latest news about the adsense payments for the month. My blog invariably shows up in the search engine results when people are looking for more information about this.

So is it an "art" form? Maybe in a way it is.

I'm going to try a little experiment with this blog.

My The Adsense Consultant Blog already ranks on page one of Google's, Yahoo's and MSN's search engines and so now is the time to get

blog on page one of the search engines.

Although my primary concern was with getting my The Adsense Consultant Blog on page 1 of the search engines, this blog should also be on page 1 of the search engines when the term "seo consultant" is typed into the search engines.

I did a search for this blog on Google's search engine and so far I haven't seen it on there. What I did see was that there were a lot of links for the term "seo consultant". There were over 700,000 search results for this term.

Since I just started this little experiment it will take some time to see how well it implements but I will let you know of the results.

I recently checked my site's ranking on Google and I'm happy to say that a link to my site appears on page 1 of Google's search engine results for the term "adsense consultant".

There are actually 3 links of mine that appear on page one! This is a (very) good thing! And it also lets me know that the work and the content on my site(s) are still consistent with maintaining a page one ranking on Google's search engine.

One of the most important things that you will want is for your site to appear in the search engines! Most of the major search engines have links on their sites to where you can add your own site manually. *However I should warn you that these sites themselves say that it will take them some time to get to your site! The process may take a few months and sometimes even longer!

My basic rule of advice regarding optimizing one's site for the search engines is to decide what keywords you want associated with your site, see how your site ranks when these search terms are used and if you are not happy at the results at where your site ranks then you have to work on incorporating those search terms within the content of your site.

However this is not the end all be all as far as optimizing one's sites for the search engines. While there may be general search terms that you want your site to be associated with, your site will also come up when people are searching for information that is related to the content that is already on your site - even though it may not be any of the search terms that you have designated for your site.

Let me explain: I have another blog where I talk about free stuff that I have found on the internet. Some of it includes some very good software that you would otherwise have to pay a lot of money for. I mentioned about one of these programs on one of my blog posts and I can see from my traffic stats that I'm getting traffic from people that are looking for the program and that a link to my blog is showing up on page one of Google's search engine results when people are looking for a free version of this program that they can download.

So even though you may have certain search terms in mind that you want associated with your site so that you get a high search engine ranking, people can come to your site because of other information / contents that you have on your site as well.

As you have probably noticed, there are not a lot of posts on this blog. The reason for that is that basically people just want to know one thing and that one thing is "How Can I Get My Site To Show Up On Page One Of The Search Engines?"

Well there are actually three ways that you can do this:

You can pay the search engine to place a link to your site at the top of their page
You can submit your site manually to the search engines. However I should warn you that these search engine sites themselves will tell you that it may take them a few months (sometimes even longer) to manually "get" to your site.
You can work on the content of your site so that it shows up in the search engines automatically when someone one is looking for information that is related to the content that is on your site.

In order to do that you are first going to have to decide what keywords and search terms you want to have associated with your site. Then see where your site ranks on the search engines now using these kewords and search terms. If you don't like where your site is ranking then you will have to work on incorporating those search terms into the content of your site.

Let's take for example my Adsense Consultant Blog since it is the oldest. As of this moment a link to my blog is on page one of Google's search engine results for the term "adsense consultant". Currently it is the fourth link on page 1! Now since I am an Adsense Consultant this is exactly where I want a link to my blog to be - on page one of the search engines! I took a look at my entry/link on the search engine and I think that I know why it appears so high in the search engine rankings! I'm going to use this theory on my other sites and on my clients' sites as well - just to see if my theory is correct. However there are no exact rules as to how one can get their site a high ranking in the search engines. It has a lot to do with what your site is about and what keywords or search terms that you want associated with your site.

You should put some good tools in place - number 1 being a stats tracker - and add it to your site. There are a lot of free site tracking services on the internet and they mostly involve you just copying and pasting some coding to put on your site. I mentioned above that a link to my blog showed up on page one of Google's search engine results when people typed in "adsense consultant" but there are also some other good "gems" that have happened. Not only does a link to my blog show up on page 1 - THREE links to my sites show up on page one! Also too, I have had visitors come to my site from the search engines when they type in related or similar search terms. For example, I got a lot of traffic within the last few weeks on my Adsense Consultant Blog simply because the adsense payments seemed to have come in rather late for the month of October. I posted about it on my blog along with information relating to the problem and apparently a lot of people were searching for that kind of information and that is why I got so much traffic at the time. This has also happened with other adsense-related issues such as people clicking on their own ads and other adsense-related topics / searches.

So you see a lot of how one gets their sites ranked high in the search engines has a lot to do with what your site is about and what search terms you want associated with your site. There have been times when I have added new content to my site and it shows up in the search engines in less than 24 hours!

There is also the question of ranking higher than your competitors as far as the search engines go. That requires a lot of work - especially if you want your site linked to generic search terms like "flowers" or "plants" and not something more specific.

So if you want your site to rank high in the search engine rankings (and especially if you want it to appear on page one of the search engines) - then you have a lot of work to do!

This is not necessarily true!

There are millions of websites online and the truth of the matter is that before you can say "no search engine ever sees my site" would have to mean that you have seen every page of page results of all the search engines all the time - something with is quite literally impossible to do!

I have seen my sites come up on the oddest of search terms that people have used to look for similar sites. For instance, a link to my Blog Consultant blog showed up on page 1 (out of 2 Million plus sites!) of Google's search engine results when someone was looking for information on how to add the adsense code to their myspace page. Now you would think that either my Adsense Consulting Blog or my MySpace Consultant Blog would show up - but they didn't.

So the truth of the matter is that your site is probably showing up in the search engines but the problem is that you don't know where.

You can solve this problem by adding a statistical tracker to your website so that you know where your web traffic is coming from. There are free stat trackers online where you just have to copy and paste their code onto your site so that you can track who is coming to your website and where they are coming from.

Someone did a search for "myspace consultant" and a link to this blog showed up on page 2 of Google's search engine results. I haven't checked to see where my The MySpace Consultant Blog showed up in the search engine results for this term because this blog showed up first so I still have to go on down the list of search engine results to see where my MySpace Consultant Blog shows up in the search engine results.

I should also point out that this blog showed up on page 2 of Google's search engine results OUT OF 2.9 MILLION SITES that Google has listed! For a blog that is just a month old that is not bad!

This also proves that you don't have to have a site that has been online for years to show up high in the search engine results. The same thing holds true for your traffic. This blog is fairly new and as you can see from the counter the traffic is starting out low but still it appears high in Google's search engine rankings! (Which can do nothing but help INCREASE the traffic to this blog.

Like I mentioned above the The MySpace Consultant blog is my newest blog so it will be interesting to see how long it will take before it appears on page 1 of the search engines including Google (of course), Yahoo and MSN.

Someone did a search for "myspace consultant" and I decided to take a look to see where my blog appears on Google's search engine. So far I can't see it at all so that is something that I am going to work on. However there is a link to my MySpace Page that appears on page 1 of Google's search engine results (out of 2.4 million other sites out there!) when someone types in the term "myspace consultant" so I am on page one - even if it is indirectly!

It will be interesting to see how long it takes before my newest blog shows up in the search engines.

You first have to decide what keywords you want associated with your site. Then check and see where you site comes up on the search engines. If you don't like where your site ranks (or worse yet your site doesn't show up at all) then you are going to have to work on incorporating those search terms within your site.

Why I Started This Blog

I started this blog because there are so many people out there asking questions about how they can get their sites into the search engines. This tactic is known as search engine optimization - SEO for short.

Why are people concerned with getting their sites listed in the search engine results? The answer is simple - to get more traffic! More traffic means more visitors to one's site. The more visitors to one's site the more popular the site becomes.

If you are selling a product or a service then the more people that visit your site, the more people that are likely to purchase your product or services.
